While down in Tampa for the annual SOF Week convention last week, I took the opportunity to head across Old Tampa Bay to a studio in Seminole to record an appearance on The Danny Jones Podcast.
Even though (or perhaps because) it’s not a pure national security show, I found the experience thoroughly enjoyable. It’s always a good idea to step outside one’s comfort zone and get a sense of how non-natsec professionals react to one’s work - what they think is interesting, and what it means. Danny did a good job of asking provocative questions, which I hope I fielded with a fairly straight bat.
Speaking of stepping outside one’s comfort zone, I am well aware that’s there’s only one smooth, experienced podcasting professional on The High Side’s two-man staff, and that person is not me. However, Danny helped put me at ease and I was surprised how quickly the time on camera (for YouTube viewers) passed. I encourage our subscribers to watch or listen to the show and learn a little more about The High Side, Jack and me. The show is available “wherever you get your podcasts,” as I believe they say in the business. You can find the video here:
In the meantime Jack and I are working extremely hard on new stories that we plan to unveil shortly. (I have more than 30,000 words written for one project, and picked up an interesting tip for another story while down in Tampa.) We are particularly grateful to our paying subscribers. Your investment in our work is what makes it all possible. Thank you.
Very professional interview Mr Naylor. Your presentation made a very clear delineation between actual reporting which you do, and some yahoo on Twitter. Good job and thanks for the content you and Jack bring to the table.
This is a bad look. Danny Jones’ podcast deals with hyping conspiracy theories. Every video he does is named with some completely extra headline as clickbait.
